Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Mainline Services Inc. ("Mainline," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use the Mainline mobile application (the "App"), website, or related services. By using the App, you acknowledge the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

Location Information

The App may request access to your device's location to support field-service operations, including verifying that a contractor or technician is at or near an assigned job site when checking in or checking out. Location may be collected while using relevant App features and stored as part of the applicable service record. Where appropriate, it may be shared with the Mainline client associated with the service.

You can manage or withdraw location permissions through your device settings. Disabling location access may prevent features such as job-site check-in and check-out from functioning properly. Location information is used only for the legitimate operational purposes described in this Policy.

Photographs and Identity Verification

The App may allow or require technicians or contractors to provide a photograph so an authorized client can verify the identity of the person scheduled to perform services. Mainline does not intentionally use these photographs to create, analyze, or store facial-recognition templates, facial geometry, or other biometric identifiers. Photographs may be shared with the applicable client for identity verification and may only be accessible through authorized accounts. Photographs are retained for up to three (3) years unless a different period is required by law, contract, or legitimate business requirements. After the applicable period, they are securely deleted or otherwise disposed of according to our retention procedures.

Device and Technical Information

When you use the App, we may automatically collect information needed to operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve it, including:

  • Device type and operating system

  • App version

  • Device or similar technical identifiers

  • IP address

  • Date and time of App activity

  • Diagnostic, crash, and performance information

  • Information relating to App functionality and security

Camera and Photo Permissions

If the App requires a photograph for identity verification, it may request access to your camera or photos. This access is used only for the applicable App functionality. You can manage these permissions through your iOS or Android settings, although denying access may make certain photo-based features unavailable.

These may include encryption of information transmitted over networks, secure systems and servers, access controls, authentication requirements, and limiting access to authorized personnel who need the information for legitimate business purposes.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, understand usage, and improve functionality. The App may also use technologies necessary for authentication, security, analytics, diagnostics, or App functionality.

11. International and Cross-Border Processing

Depending on the services and technology providers used to operate the App, information may be stored or processed in Canada, the United States, or other jurisdictions.

Where required by applicable law, we take reasonable steps to ensure information transferred across borders is handled in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.
